Richard’s Birthday

So we begin our final official week of Bullers. How depressing because I’m really not ready for uni. I still have a lot of growing up to do.

It’s Richard’s 22nd birthday today. This hasn’t really helped in the forgetting and moving on process. I should be meeting up with him and giving him a weird present that I know he’d look at and think “what the fuck?” but he’d always remember it was from me. I waited up last night until midnight to send him a very long text. I poured my heart out near enough but he didn’t reply, of course. He’s trying to get over me by pretending I don’t exist, which is fair enough, I suppose.

Saw Cutie today in the Year 12 common room. He wasn’t outside like usual because it was raining quite heavily. Seeing him always makes me smile, no matter what’s going on in my life. He’s just too cute!

Speaking of rain, Moo stole an umbrella from the kitchen which had been there all day to walk to English with. She kept the umbrella though, so she was actually a real umbrella thief.

I ordered my prom dress over the weekend. It’s beautiful, to say the least. The same colour as the one I originally wanted but it’s a bit shorter and it’s a different shape, as it’s not the sort of sticky out fairy dress I’m used to wearing. I love it though and I can’t wait till it comes.

Had a French resit exam this morning. It was easier than last year’s paper, thank god. Finished it all nicely and was rather pleased with it. Hopefully that’s better than last year’s E grade.

Casey had a quiz about biscuits to do today. She got it from a girl at work and the prize was a £10 hmv voucher for guessing the answers to the riddles, which were all biscuits. In the morning at about 8:30, I suggested “Petticoat Tails” for the riddle “undergarment rear extension” beginning with the letters PT. Casey said that I had just made that up and it wasn’t a biscuit. At breaktime, we found out it was a kind of shortbread. Alex’s intelligence is clearly superior.

We got extremely excited when we only had one left. By this time, it was just me, Casey and Jess helping with it. The last clue was “Atlantic speed record” and the initials were BR. After much debate and thought, we were delighted to discover that “blue riband” is an award given to boats with the record for transatlantic crossings. Our excitement and the difficulty of the quiz was not worth the prize at all.

I bought a new notebook on the way home today for people to sign and put messages in before we leave, so I can keep it forever and cry at how much I miss everyone in the future. Can’t believe I really have to leave school soon.
